Debilitation from surgery, injury, or illness can occur at any time, to anyone. Rehabilitative therapy is the key ingredient in your recovery. It's hard work and important in getting you back to living life fully. Hamilton Memorial Hospital Rehab Services are here to help you.
Personalized Programs:
Your progress is dependent upon a carefully planned outline of goals. These goals are discussed with you upon your evaluation and then designed with your overall health, abilities and home situation in mind. Once your routine of physical, occupational or speech therapy has been developed, our therapists will assist you throughout the course of your rehab program.
Types of therapy:
Physical Therapy: is able to help you manage chronic pain, strengthen weakened muscles, or regain mobility. Under the guidance of our highly trained professionals, results can improve the quality of your life after illness, injury, or surgery.
Occupational Therapy: is designed to help you regain confidence in accomplishing the basic activities of daily living. With the proper instruction and encouragement, once difficult tasks become manageable again. This helps to reduce the risk of accident or injury.
Speech Therapy: Some illnesses or accidents result in damage to the speech center of the brain. Therapies designed specifically for word recognition, recall and verbal annunciation are prescribed.
Our therapist also deals with swallowing disorders and difficulties.
Experienced Staff: Hamilton Memorial Hospital has served the Hamilton County and surrounding counties for 47 years. Our therapists have over 70 years of combined experience in the licensed therapies. We provide a full range of therapeutic equipment including ultrasound, electrical stimulation and both cervical and pelvic traction. We are proud to offer state of the art treatments including:
Fludiotherapy- A heat and desensitization therapy used
to ease hypersensitive nerve injuries.
Cold Low Level Laser Therapy: For sprains, strains,
acute and chronic inflammation, carpel
tunnel syndrome and other soft tissue
injuries.
How do I get started?
A referral from your doctor for a specific form of therapy will initiate the process to begin your rehabilitation program. Outpatient therapies are covered by most insurance plans, including private plans, worker's compensation plans and some HMO's. Specific benefits will vary depending on the carrier and the plan, and our staff will gladly coordinate with your insurance carrier.
