Department Hours for Out Patient
Monday-Friday: 7:00AM to 7:00PM
Radiology Department: The Radiology or "Imaging" Department includes the following diagnostic imaging services:
- General Diagnostic Radiology,
- Routine Fluoroscopy,
- Mammography,
- Computerized Tomography (CT),
- Ultrasound (US or sonogram)
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI, one day per week)
- Bone Densitometry (one day per month)
These services are available to all patients with a valid physician's order. Written orders for services are required either on the patient's medical chart or on a physician referral form and must include the reason for the order. Verbal and phone orders can be taken from the physician. The phone order form must be filled out and countersigned by the physician within a 72-hour period.
Most services require that procedures be scheduled in advance with the exception of routine diagnostic studies. Services are coordinated and policies formulated with input from the various other hospital departments. The primary responsibility of all sections is to provide the highest quality diagnostic imaging examinations to the patient and to generate a written consultative report to the referring physicians as soon as possible. The Radiologist dictates a report on each procedure ordered by the physician. The Health Information Department is responsible for the recording and the Radiology Department is responsible for the distribution of these reports. A copy of the radiology report is given to the ordering physician if the patient is an outpatient. A copy of the radiology report is placed on the patient's chart if he or she is in the hospital. A copy of the radiology report is placed in the patient's x-ray file jacket. The original radiology report is given to the Radiologist and is reviewed. The Radiologist will sign this original report. The original signed report is made a permanent part of the patient's medical record.
